In my post earlier this week, I shared two recipes that I tried from Kris Carr’s book Crazy Sexy Diet, which highlights the benefits of a low-glycemic vegan diet high in raw produce.

But I saved the best recipe for last – CHOCOMOLE!!!! (a.k.a. Chocolate Avocado Pudding)

You know those days where you are craving something really BAD for you?  Like a slice of one of those giant chocolate fudgy 12-inch tall cakes found at various chain restaurants? Or my favorite – flourless chocolate cake – oh, yes!

Well, next time I have one of those days, I’m making this instead.  It’s certainly not a diet food as it isn’t low on fat or sugar…but the fat and sugar here come from natural sources. No partially hydrogenated or high fructose anything – just pure dates and avocados with cocoa and vanilla.

But it tastes so sinful, your craving won’t know the difference.

The most dangerous part of all is that it only takes 5 minutes to make, so watch out or you’ll be eating this all the time!

This was so good that I licked my bowl, the spatula, and even the food processor itself.  It was excellent on a spoon, but would also work well as a dip for any of your favorite treats – perhaps strawberries and/or ‘Nilla Wafer type cookies.

What’s your favorite healthy indulgence?

Chocomole (a.k.a. Chocolate Avocado Pudding)

This recipe was contributed to Crazy Sexy Diet by Choosing

You’ll need:

  • a Food Processor and the following ingredients:
    • 1 ripe avocado, pitted
    • 6-10 dates (depending on size of date) (or substitute your favorite sweetener)
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 4 heaping Tbsp cocoa powder
    • 1/2 cup water
